It’s the birthday season that is fast approaching and the invites have already started pouring in. We are stacking up on our presents to give away so there is no last minute panic. Birthdays are big milestones, and celebrating them with lots of friends around is one great way to make a lasting memory. There is enough help available today to us parents with party coordinators and lots of international websites now shipping party favours to India. So while figuring out which party do we really feel like this year here is our list of party themes for the season:

  1. Master Chef Birthday Party:  There is absolutely no guessing that this one has been extremely popular with the parents and the kids. Make your red & blue teams and get ready for the Mystery box challenges. Grab your aprons and scream together “ Yes Chef”. The invite could be a Menu Card or a chefs hat. Decorate the party table with cans full of kitchen utensils and get a chefs hat. Activities: Let kids decorate sugar cookies with frosting, sprinkles, colored sugar and candy. Older kids (10 and up) can play a more active role, like taking things in and out of the oven and measuring out the cookie recipe without your telling them what to do. Divide the teams into the Red team & Blue team. Get aprons for them. Mystery Box challenge, tasting and naming the ingredients.
  2. Football Party/Man U Party: For kids 5 + you can have this in your building garden where you make two teams and let the kids sweat it out. Girls will not be left out as they are pretty much clued on to the game these days

3. Lego Party: Build the blocks with your children and create some fun installations with the game that all of us have grown up playing. Beware that parents tend to enjoy this just as much so keep them occupied too 4. Angry Birds: Though not a personal favourite this one is topping the charts this year 5. Around the world: Anything to do with travel be it a destination of your choice or the journey itself. Take a country and do everything fun and unique to that country. E.g. Britain would be London Eye, queen, tea party and scones. 6. Olympics 2012: Get your kids to try some fun sports and get rewarded with medals. This one is extremely popular this year 7. Wizard & Magic: I don’t know why but the Harry Porter fever is perennial and always seems to work its charm with kids. 8. Try your skill: From fun games, to creative art & craft this one always gets kids excited and all geared up 9. A Theme park: Try the newly launched SNOW WORLD In Mumbai or the SEGWAY rides in Delhi. 10. A party to a horse around: Take the kids for a fun field trip to a stable where they could feed. Bathe & ride the horses and also enjoy some free time just lazing and running around in the grass 11. Pinkalicious/Princess/Cupcakes/Pink Frosting: Though this one is specific to the girls but works so well for them 12. Spiderman/Jack/Superhero: Any superhero that your boy loves to be 13. Messy Art: Kids love the splish splash splosh of colour, glitter, sparkles that brings alive their creativity. 14. Pyjama Party: I don’t know hwy but kids feel like its suddenly cool even at 3 and 4 to have a sleepover and be without parents. So this one sure sounds fun 15. Pirates: Finally on the list we have some fun Pirates who will get the boys all excited.
