There have been so many instances when I have scolded my kids for some mistake and then wondered if this will make them stop sharing their life with me.
In today’s virtual world the fear of the digital footprints we are leaving behind is very real. The kids seem to be online all the time nowadays and as much as we cringe about the extended screen time, there is little we can do about it. However, there is something we can do about the effects of it.
Mansi Zaveri of Kidsstoppress, actor Neha Dhupia and Uma Subramanian from Aarambh India got together to discuss
- How we can educate our kids without alienating them.
- Protecting our children from unpleasant situations
- Ensuring a safe online experience for them
The Report It- Don’t Share campaign is a Facebook initiative to sensitise everyone about why it’s important to not share images of child exploitation, even if it is to raise awareness and condemn this behaviour.
Think about this – When people re-share out of outrage, horror and shock, the liking, commenting or sharing causes more harm to the child. But if you report it you will actually be helping the child.
Listen to this podcast and find out what they talk about and get tips on how you can educate your child, yourself and protect them in the process!
