A scoop and transfer activity is one where the toddler scoops an item and transfer it elsewhere. We’ve listed a few interesting activities that are great to keep them busy and will build their hand muscles in the process.

Any activity that encourages your child to use his/her eyes and hands together is a great tool for development. You can set up different sized beans in different bowls. Get your child to transfer them into an ice cube tray using a spoon or a toddler scoop. Read more here.

Playing with squishy, slimy and slippery water beads is a great sensory experience. In a tub mix water and some essential oil together. Pour a little bit of water into the bucket and drop the water beads in. It will take a couple of minutes for the water beads to expand. This is a great way of teaching them some patience while they curiously watch them grow. Then get them to scoop the beads and drop the beads in another tub. Read more here.
