One of the most successful actors in Indian film industry, Akshay Kumar has been earning accolades outside the film world too. In addition to promoting regional, patriotic films and the ones with a social message, under his production banner, his joint venture along with Adithya Thackeray- Women’s Self Defense Center- aims at providing women with the right self-defence training to meet any challenges in the future.

Akshay Kumar also has no qualms in accepting that he is a strict dad. He has achieved success after a long struggle in the industry and wants his kids to taste success like he did – with dedication and hard work.
“Whatever they get, they have to earn it. I want them to be responsible human beings who are also full of gratitude for what they have”.
Also, when his son Aarav won himself a black belt in Kudo, Daddy dearest decided to reward him with a Business Class trip to Europe! He strongly says that he wouldn’t be gifting his kids this luxurious holiday if they hadn’t earned it.
“One needs to give kids the space to grow, and I do that. But instilling right values is important, that’s what my parents did, and that’s how I want it for my kids”.
Father of two kids – Aarav and Nitara, Akshay had a message for fellow fathers.
“To all the fathers out there, hug your kids for as long as you can, because it’s your grip that makes them so strong to stand there and face it all.”
When quizzed about who does the parenting role so right in their household, the actor has a witty reply.
“My wife (Twinkle Khanna) is the one who has brought them up so well. In fact, after our marriage, she has brought me also up really well!”
