So the husband and I have been mulling over what we can do this Christmas eve besides taking the daughter to the nth Santa Party. A friend of ours told us about this cool get away. Thank You Ushma! She specially recommended it for the blog because she knows most of our plans are baby inclusive. And when she told us that a few friends had visited last year for New Year and had a great time, I said this sounds like a wow experience for the daughter. So we are skipping the budget for a new Christmas dress and shoes and expensive passes to a cool party where we have to leave the daughter behind for a barbeque camping activity by the lake.

So here are the details:

1. The barbeque Fest Dec 24-25, 2011

2. A fun filled barbeque evening with the best in the business with 5 experts from The Barbeque Nation taking you through an experience where you marinate and flavor your food from turning paneer on fancy grills, tender-crusting fishes on charcoal embers, enjoyed with that vintage that you had put aside for just this occasion.

3. Experience this within a two hour drive from both Mumbai and Pune.

4. Culinary experts will be there, watching you, encouraging you, sharing secret recipes and tips to make the evening special. Close the day by the campfire, and wake up to a misty winter morning with the rising sun.

5. The menu will encompass a wide variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian barbeque ideas including Chicken Teriyaki, Pahadi Paneer Tikka and Mutton Steak with Mushroom Rosemary Sauce, among others, along with dips and salads. The experience will involve you through the late hours of evening and promises to be a gastronomical delight. For moms who wish to know whats the exact menu. Just keep scrolling down!

6. Camping Courtesy The Big Red Tent:  Set in an idyllic location flanked by hills on one side and a lake on the other, the campground affords treks and walks, sky-gazing and simply enjoying the outdoors. Your tents will be pitched for you based on your group size and you will be able to celebrate Christmas Eve with sounds of silence and like minded people in the glow of a campfire. Retire for the night in sleeping bags with inflatable pillows and camping mattresses. Good Clean bathrooms guaranteed!
