Children start identifying shapes very early in life and once they do they love to find out the name and are constantly searching for the shape in everything they see around them. This week’s KSP Crafts focuses on how to teach your child shapes in a fun, easy manner. Read on and break out that craft paper!
1. Build a Truck
For all those with kids obsessed with vehicles and transport toys. Teach them about shapes by making what they love the most, more vehicles!
2. Shapes on Table Top
Bring some tape out and make shapes to border your blocks. It is fun, easy and kids are sure to take to it.
 3. Making Shapes
For those children learning how to identify shapes, this is a great game. Each craft stick will have a shape on it. Children need to match the pairs together. For younger kids keep each shape a particular colour and teach them colours too!
4. Grouping Shapes
Draw columns with shapes on top and ask your child to bring household items that match the shapes. A game that will teach and as a bonus keep them busy for hours!
 5. Wooden Block Prints
Grab a few blocks and bring out the paint. Add paint to the blocks and let your toddler block print his masterpiece!
6. Potato Stamps
Make your own blocks using potatoes! You can carve fun shapes and not restrict them to geometric ones and let your little one stamp his very own design! Fun guaranteed!
