Times when you feel invisible…
“Mom, how could you forget? It was such a simple task.”,
“You can do this, it’s not like you’re busy with a job”,
“I know you’re working, but taking care of the house and kids are more important!”,
Do you sometimes feel like everything else is more important but you? Isn’t it ironic? How the one who often takes care of everyone, is the one who often, doesn’t get taken care of... Well, agreed that we celebrate more “mother’s days” than father’s. But when it’s not that special day, are we treated the same?
Why Do We Feel Like This?
Even though it’s natural for family and friends to get used to you taking care of everything silently, that it gets so monotonous sometimes– Like a default setting. No one asks you for your opinions or feelings. You are expected to do everything on time, without mistakes, no matter how busy you are. And if you forget something, the whole house comes down! (literally, because no one else will remember till you forget…)
In times like these, it’s easy to feel hurt or neglected. That’s exactly when moms feel they are being taken for granted. It gets so difficult to make yourself believe that you are cherished and loved, that sometimes you wonder- “Am I invisible?”
You Are Not Invisible!
You are loved, cherished and admired. Sometimes it seems like no one cares, but they do. It’s just so normal to not show it, when it comes to moms. To show that they love and appreciate you. But even if they don’t, you should know, that you are irreplaceable! You are the one who keeps everything and everyone in order. So, when you feel down or underappreciated, take yourself out. Treat yourself or cook yourself your favourite meal! Tell your family about how you feel, you don’t need to keep it all in every time. You are human too…
