The day just before Children's day was quite hectic and we did have lots of events to attend but like you already know this one is something we were really looking forward too. If you didn't know of this event and missed our post on this one then first read what the event was right here Even though it wasn't as well advertised like a few other events through the day this was actually an event that the kids would have thoroughly enjoyed. So we reached there with a group of friends at about 5 and were already to go when we met with ECO Kids and they had saplings to offer along with some sand art for little children. To read more about Urban Farming and gardening for kids read here. Sand painting at Eco Kids When we were done we fed some goats & sheeps and dont know why but my daughter kind of loves goats. She loves all the animals but maybe this one is kind of her favourite. As soon as we walked in we felt like a child in a candy store, spoilt for choice of activities and crunch of time. Didn't know where to begin so we headed straight for the most awaited one the milking of the cows. It was quite an experience and yes it was the most crowded stall. All the kids were happy to see the cow and witness the whole process. A lot of kids were scared to touch the cow some of them were brave enough. My daughter was a little scared too but once I did it she gradually took to it. Wow we are truly supermoms, to teach our kids all that we want we end up gathering courage for so many things that we never thought we would. All the moms please give yourself a big pat on the back. Right outside they had placed a lovely chart on how we get milk and what do we make with it. Continuing the dairy experience the children could make chocolates, ice creams and decorate cup cakes. The little chefs could also try Jalebi & Roti Making. Milking of the cows The milkman showing the kids how to do it Stands to show different processes at the stalls Jalebi Making We then moved onto a mock garage where the mechanics were dressed in bright orange overalls and explained the children how to fix a Tyre, various parts in the bonnet & near the steering wheel. The kids were most excited to fix the Tyre feeling like little adults who could also repair things and suddenly felt quite responsible. To sit in the drivers seat was quite a thrill and I have to say this the boys were not alone, the girls also fought their way through to the drivers seat. Using a wrench We then went to the builders zone where our little painters took some roller brushes and started painted mock up buildings made of cartons. This one got me thinking that someone's really used their imagination here to make it so interesting, a brilliant learning experience and so child friendly for the kids. It was a task to get the children out of this stall and we did manage to cleane the paint off them successfully. We then went on to do some tattoo and making a mock ice cream which the kids absolutely loved and is fairly simple to do at home too. Take a brown sheet of paper and roll it into a cone for them. Ask them to stuff it with cotton and add some fevicol on the top and give them lots of sequences , coloured sand and sprinkles to decorate. They will love it. Ice Cream Making Kids at the potters wheel Moving on we tried some pottery and carpentry which again the kids were ecstatic to do as they felt like mommy now trusts me to do something responsible. There were so many more things to do but the daughter and I were quite drained of energy so we headed straight to the play zone and chilled for a bit. Looking back I feel like we had so much more on our list but it was a huge space and there is only so much that kids can do. Play Zone For all those moms who could not make it, it was an experience for the children and you should encourage the people who organize these events by coming in huge numbers. I completely endorse that children learn by experience so make them witness the events that lead to the day to day running of their lives. Ditch the malls and social gathering sometimes to make time for these small joys of life only for your children. CFF India thank you so much for such a wonderful event and look forward to the next one.
