On my last trip to the US where there are so many indoor activity centers for kids, like Bounce it Up, Chucky Cheese, Sand Box, I thought it would be so good if I Mumbai could actually have one. Given that March – Sept the weather is so bad firstly with the heat and then with the monsoons it would be a great idea to have indoor activity centers for kids.
Just then I chanced upon Happy Planet. With over 15000 sq ft of indoor airconditioned space in phase one. The Happy Planet experience includes bumper boats,cannon shooting, steepest slide, longest and highest slide starting at 20ft,fast worm train,inflatables,special toddler zone for kiddies, kiddy rides, redemption on games and much much more….

Entry to HappyPlanet is free for all and there are various pricing options which a guest could chose from for the kids to play. Yes its far but on a Sunday don’t think getting to Kanjurmarg may take you more than 45 mins. It may be your only hope to successfully entertain your child for a good 2 – 3 hours.
The way to the center is relatively shady with steep stairs that were quite mucky in the rains but once you enter it seems like a fun place. The staff is helpful as they tell you to first check the place out and then let you evaluate which package you would like to take for your child. The menu includes limited inflatable rides for Rs 275 for 60 mins, then boat ride and train ride at Rs 60 each for which you need to buy a card. Toddler Room is priced at another Rs 275, at Rs 550 you can avail of all the rides for as long as you wish to and they also give you a card worth Rs 100 which you can use for all the redemption games, boat & train rides.
Being a mother of a 3 year old where they are still not capable of exploring a whole jungle gym as high as 20 feet on their own, I thought it was a little bit of a waste. My daughter was stuck at Level 1 as there were too many rowdy kids and she wouldn’t want any of the strangers helping her around. I would have preferred them to let the parents accompany the children for them to enjoy a lot more and ensure their safety.
Even though the staff is helpful it works for kids who are 3.5 – 3.7 and above much better when the kids are more independent. The toddler room is really for kids who are 1.5 – 2 years of age and the older kids may get a little bored.
The entertainment games again are focused towards older kids and are not a big draw considering they are there every where. The bumper boat ride was a lot of fun while the train ride was a bit too fats for toddlers unless accompanied by an adult.
Overall the space seems clean and a lot of fun except the loud and jhatak hindi music they play.
