Frequent leaks or blowouts – if the diaper is too small then your little one is constantly leaking through diapers or having blowouts. Time to trade up.
Put your finger between the diaper and your baby's leg and then lift the diaper slightly, The elastic should not be too tight.
The top of the diaper where the fasteners meet should be about two inches below your baby's belly button — if the distance seems more that means the diaper is small.
The diaper shouldn't be so snug that it leaves red marks on the skin. You should be able to get a finger in the waistband without a struggle.
