It’s always difficult to get in touch with Mommie entrepreneurs as always they are busy managing their business alongside their families. And, especially it gets more tough if the women is the face behind India’s biggest Kid’s exhibition. But, as last year this year too we managed to have a quick chat with Sarika Desai, the Women Behind the India’s Biggest Kids exhibition.

Sarika gives us an insight on how exciting and different the Third edition of the Kids Town Fair is going to be like

1. Third edition of Kid Town fair, how does it feel?
Feeling as excited as our first one. However, me and the team are a lot more confident and have improvised a lot.We have introduced a host of new features in our 3rd edition.

2. What can moms expect this season?
Personally, I think this is the largest collection of designers/entrepreneurs we have chosen acroos all our editions. So the sheer variety of the offerings is something a mom should look forward to.The Kid Town Farm by Kids Fun Club is a very cool farm like experience that the kids can enjoy. Lots of farm related games and prizes packed in. Considering that we are flooded with calls for Playtime with Dora, that should also be a huge draw. The Mom and kids prizes by Nick Jr, are worth waiting for. We have also introduced the Board Game zone and the Indoor Gardening workshop.

3. Are you nervous?
We have garnered a significant amount of confidence which is largely a product of the faith that comes in with repeated participation and the effectiveness of the show as a lucrative business decision for the participants. However,I want to keep complacency at bay and be aware of all possible contingencies that could emerge.I think its good to be adequately nervous. It increases efficient.

4. Biggest Learnings in the 3 seasons?
That fantastic marketing is appreciated as far as it is fronting a fantastic product, in our case the show. There is no 2 ways about it.

5. With so many exhibitions mushrooming in the city what Makes Kid Town Fair the Best Kids exhibition in the country?
Our constant and continuous efforts to raise the entertainment value of the show and Our marketing skills.

6. One tip for a mom who wants to get back to work/start something of her own?
In case you have always worked full time, like I did, Then I suggest you don’t take a break at all. There is always a healthy balance that is waiting to be discovered. For those who want to start something after having a child, I would say wait till the baby is 3 yrs old. I founded one business in 2006 and another in 2008.I gave it my blood and sweat for 4 years and then set up a team that works wonderfully for me today.I don’t think I would be able to pump in that much effort and aggression if I was a mother then.So if you are looking to seriously do something, then I would say, wait till the child is 3.

7. In one word:

a. Being an entrepreneur is over dramatised ( not always as impressive and glamorous as it sounds)

b. Dealing with competition is a full time job

c. Come to Kid town fair because we offer the best weekend for the Mumbai kids.

d. Parents in Mumbai – Pressurised ( me included)

e. Being a working mom is Challenging.

f. Kidsstoppress is A Mom’s answer to Everything
