As a mom who likes watching Indian classical art forms like music and dance, I have been looking for ideas to get my child to like them as well. The easiest way, I realised, to get her interested in classical music and dance forms, is to expose them to the best of these performances. As a family, I ensure between our outings to children’s movies and play areas, we plan a visit to music or dance concerts that will get the kids interested in our traditional art forms.

If you are looking for one such opportunity this January- here is it. The Bhramara Dance Festival is happening this month in Mumbai and here’s I am excited and going to book  my tickets right away!

What’s the Bhramara Dance Festival:

Conceptualised by Tripti, Managing Trustee of Arya Group Foundation, the idea of the Bhramara Dance Festival, is to create a unique platform for artists from various classical forms to come together and revive the interest in our traditional art forms. By ensuring the mix of various dance forms, the festival aims to bring together the audience with a liking for a particular dance form together to enjoy and appreciate all the other dance forms from across India.

Isn’t that a great option? For my child who has only seen South Indian dance forms, getting a chance to see the best of artists from pan-India will be a great experience! Isn’t that what parents will love?!

Who is going to perform at this dance fest?

Celebrated artists from across India will come together to perform at Bhramara Dance festival this January 19th and 20th.

  • Arushi Mudgal- Odissi

  • Also, all the performances will be under 30 minutes. Yes, parents, we know what long hours with kids mean!
  • There is also an organic food pop-up with healthy and tasty treats planned outside that makes it a fun outing for you and the kids.
