The little minds around us are always curious and figure out what’s happening around them. And that curiosity gives rise to the zillion questions they ask us, each day! Not every question has to be struck down or replied with a ‘u won’t understand now’. There are certain things that today’s children need to realise about money, where it comes from or how to make good use of it.

Today in KSP Book Club we tell you one book, that will help explain the basics of money for kids in a language they will understand.
What book are we talking about:
The book we are discussing in #KSPBookClub today is My First Book Of Money by Ravi Subramanian and Shoma Narayanan. The book is published by Penguin Random House India.
What is this book about:
The book is all about the unending questions and doubts kids have about money- something that they witness all around them but are totally clueless about. Woven in the form of a story of two kids Aman and Anya, this book teaches kids (for 8 and above) about where money comes from and what a crucial role it plays in our daily lives. Written by the famous banker-turned-bestselling author Ravi Subramanian and another banker-turner-writer Shoma Narayanan. this book describes what your kids would actually want to know.

Why is this book on our shelf:
- We love the way the concept is presented. A simple narrative, with relatable characters (Dadi, Mom, Dad, etc) will get the kids to like this book. Also since it is in the form of a story and not something serious or preachy, the older kids will love to read it on their own.
- When a bestselling author of crime and mystery genres writes a book for kids on a topic that most parents need, the reach is greater and that’s a good thing for the world of children’s books!
- The next time, your kids insist on a toy that isn’t actually needed- just remind them where money comes from and how money doesn’t grow on trees! They will understand!
