When the kids are on holiday, I must confess a slow sense of laziness creeps into me too. We lose ourselves to routine, discipline and exercise and health takes the first beating and we are quick to put them on the backburner. After all how many of us have used the excuse that running behind kids, is exercise enough?
We tend to indulge a bit more in just about everything. That’s where we are going wrong. The first thing you  need to do is to stop losing focus from your goal and in turn your exercise time.  This is what I do and it works wonders for me. I have taken up the KSPMomsChallenge and I am determined to keep it up!

- The most important thing to remember is to not change anything about your routine even though your kids are at home on a break. You will be tempted to stay in bed that extra hour but don’t give in. If your kids watch you exercise daily, they won’t bother you at all, it simply becomes part of your daily routine.

- Make sure your menu is planned the previous night so they aren’t starving. Grab a fruit or pour in some milk to get them happy and full quickly.
- Why not get your kids involved? I love this Instagram page because there are just so many fun ways to exercise with the kids and involved them too. Do what works for you and your family. Try it and watch how much your kids enjoy the idea of getting a workout in!
- Join a class together! This one is always fun because you are learning with your child.
- Exercise with them : When early morning exercise becomes tough, don’t waste a day. Instead I head out with their bicycles and my jogging shoes and hit Race Course or Worli Seaface. While the kids cycle, I run behind them and then we head out to get bun maska or even tuck into a healthy breakfast.
- Plan the previous night on what exercise form you are going to pick the next day. It makes it a lot easier and if you share the plan with the kids there is no way they will let you stay in bed. They will get you up and make sure they join in the workout!
