The week has been really hectic and as a parent, I can’t wait for the weekend to relax, rejuvenate and get set for some family fun time. There are a lot of options for parents this weekend, and topping the list is Mumbai’s happiest festival- The Lil Flea. As someone who was a part of it last weekend, I can’t stop raving about all the fun we had with family and friends at the Jio Garden, BKC. So, am already sketching my plans for this weekend, with ideas to shop at the Lil Flea, and the fun things I can get for myself and the kids- in addition to the great music and delicious treats!

Some parents get all worked up seeing huge crowds and if you are bringing in your kids- unless you plan in advance, the outing might turn out to be more tiring than enjoyable. So here’s the cheat sheet you will need to sail through the Lil Flea, this weekend.
- Book the entry tickets online. Waiting in endless queues with a wailing toddler is the last thing you will need this summer.
- Make sure you take the stroller or baby carrier to keep your arms free. With tons of shopping to do and great foods to taste- you know you need to be hands-free!
- Brave the heat and make sure you reach early by 3.45-4.00 PM. The crowd sets in by late evening and you won’t want to experience the maddening crowd wth your kids.
- Spend a minute in advance and add money to your PayTM wallet before you reach there. Network problems might make it difficult for you to use 3G/4G at the venue. Most outlets use PayTM or cash or debit/credit cards. Keep all your options open.
- Strike a deal with your spouse or family members and take turns to watch the kids while you do some shopping! There are a lot of kids activities planned at the venue that includes pottery, childhood games, trampoline and arts and crafts. It’s right at the left when you enter the venue.
- You might want to make sure your phone has enough storage space and also remember to carry a portable charger. You just can’t have enough of selfies at each of the lovely stalls out there!
- Choose comfort over style. Keeping the scorching heat in mind, get your kids to wear comfortable cotton dresses and comfortable shoes (meant for walking!). Make sure you ditch the heels and opt for the flats too!
As a parent, I must confess there was so much that we could enjoy at the Lil Flea and your kids will have a great time too! The ultimate haven for shopaholics, food connoisseurs and music lovers- see you at the Lil Flea this weekend!
