So I am entering a contest myself this week. Its called like the title suggests Passport to a healthy pregnancy. First of all the most important thing I understood was I was just pregnant and not ill. I did not change anything about my life till the last day before I delivered. I was a full time working mom then and I remember working every single day till the last day to ensure I accumulated all my leaves to use post delivery and be positive.

When you are pregnant there are just so many things that you do to ensure that what you deliver is nothing but perfect! Its great to deliver a normal baby but you are even luckier if you deliver a happy baby.

The secret to a happy & healthy baby is be happy and extremely positive. Live life to the fullest. Continue with your routine and be extremely positive.

The other & most important thing that helped me have a great pregnancy was YOGA.

I practiced maternity Yoga as soon as I started my 4th month. We all know that Yoga has enough benefits but practicing yoga during your pregnancy can have calming effects on your baby and ease your delivery process. Please consult a maternity yoga practitioner or you could also read Gita Iyengars book on Yoga during Motherhood. No specific poses as these will depend on your specific case.

I practiced yoga till the last day of my delivery and here are the benefits:

  1. Calms your nervous
  2. Creates space for the baby to grow
  3. Stretches your muscles to ease delivery
  4. Helps to boost circulation and also help with fluid retention.
  5. The stretching exercises relieve aches and pains especially back aches.
  6. Stay in shape
  7. Helps to have a normal deliver
  8. Breathing helps during labor
  9. Make great friends

I would urge all moms to be to practice yoga and be extremely happy and positive. Let no amount of negativity affect you during your pregnancy or after that.

I am blessed to have my daughter who is truly the best daughter in the whole wide world.
