The season of holidays is upon us and it is time to pick a destination, pack those bags and head out! Well, if you are travelling with kids it is never that simple now is it? I find even with a million check lists and tons of research I still go wrong! I find that I need help remembering and storing all the information I collected and want that precious info relayed back to me at the right time. Almost like a personal assistant. Google Trips is that personal assistant.

Google Trips is the result of two years of extensive work improving Google’s existing travel products. So in a sense it is like they took the bugs and cleaned it out. Think of Google Trips as that diary you carry when you travel. It collects all the information from your GMail – right from the tickets that are booked to hotel reservations – and puts them all in one place. And once you finalize the travel to your destination, Google Trips creates a curated information about all the “Things To Do”.

We all know our grand sightseeing plans never work with kids. So with Google Trips we customised our day plans. Using the ‘magic wand’ button, we chose a plan that was ideal just for one section of the day – morning, afternoon, evening, or even the whole day!  The Getting Around section helps with detailed information on how to get from the airport to the city either by public transport, taxi, or rental car. Choosing a taxi? Find out how much it will cost you! The ‘Need to Know’ feature is perfect for parents. It will tell you the closest hospital, pharmacy, and even a supermarket to run to for milk!
