I feel carriers & wraps are a god send on hilly terrains or beach holidays where strollers become difficult to carry. Motherhood is intimidating the first time around but like everything else if you embrace the changes that come with it, it doesn’t feel like too much. I always tell all moms that motherhood doesn’t mean leave what you love doing but working around a way to continue living it up with all the changes. As moms in the digital era we are so lucky to have so many facilitators to help us continue with life just the way it used to be.

One such facilitator for me was a Baby Carrier and a Baby Wrap. Â I used both of them extensively and it actually helped me a lot through my travels, being hands on with my first one after I delivered the second one. Until recently I used the baby carrier extensively and found really easy to use. I had kind of mastered using it and every holiday along with the stroller the carrier had to be there. I was introduced to Anmol Wrap by mom Rashmee Gajaree who is extremely passionate about the product and was persistent in chasing me to try it. On a recent holiday to Matheran I decided to skip the carrier that my 20 month old had outgrown and try the wrap instead. Rashmee was super prompt and sent me the wrap on the eve that I was scheduled to leave. Quick video tutorials was all you need to get used to the wrap. I did struggle a bit with the wrap initially but it was only a matter of practice till I finally got it right.

While the wrap is a lot more comfortable on the child and the mom I do feel that it can be intimidating at first. It folds into a square compact bag and that’s all you need to carry. Â What most mothers love about the wrap is the comfort to the baby, the attachment and closeness to the baby, the security it provides to the mother and child. The wrap clearly is not a new concept and was practiced centuries ago ….. and you will see a lot of women at traffic signals also wear it with their infants in tow.

If there is anything that might dissuade a new mom is one long piece of cloth and that’s it, how do I keep my baby safe with this. I also need to confess that it takes probably slightly longer than slipping on a carrier. But the comfort to the baby and the stress on the mothers shoulder the wrap wins hands down.
