Small joys of life at Worli Sea Face

While it wasn’t raining yesterday we both set out to feel the wind on our face and small drops of water that felt like gentle kisses. As we walked on the cars zipped by and we learn’t that indeed the promenade is the only safe option for a walk on Worli Sea Face. The wind was so strong that she didn’t even need to blow the bubbles they just popped out of the blower on its own and my daughter said to me ” Mama, I’m so strong so the bubbles are so big,” and I said yes. Its calm, its peaceful and a must do if you are on sea face. After all how many of us teach our kids to bow their heads every day in front of the almighty and just thank them for the beautiful lives they are living.

Its one of my favourite places in the whole wide world. It helps me when I am sad, soul searching or when I am happy, drained of energy and need to recharge.

I think it works as therapeutically for the daughter too. Its her favourite place as well. While it wasn’t raining yesterday we both set out to feel the wind on our face and small drops of water that felt like gentle kisses. We set out walking and darn it was a fun walk. We saw some dirty footpaths filled with lots of moss and small snails. We found our good in the bad looking at all the creepy crawlies on the Mumbai Footpaths.

En route we passed a butcher shop, some fruit & vegetable vendors & chanced on seeing a goat. That was the highlight of the visit. She was ecstatic to see a goat. Don’t blame her for feeling that where on earth do they see these animals in Mumbai other than dogs. As we walked on the cars zipped by and we learn’t that indeed the promenade is the only safe option for a walk on Worli Sea Face. She couldn’t wait to get the bubbles out, blowing them and then chasing them. It was such a beautiful scene that my heart went out to their innocence. These are small joys of life. For a split second I thought that we are just the same we just keep chasing things in life but sadly we don’t enjoy it as much as these kids do. We searched for a perfect bench after our long walk and then blew some more bubbles. The wind was so strong that she didn’t even need to blow the bubbles they just popped out of the blower on its own and my daughter said to me ” Mama, I’m so strong so the bubbles are so big,” and I said yes.

Just when we were settling on the bench a cute little dog was approaching and the daughter was excited and ofcourse we had to get up and pet him. She loves dog and I have taken a liking for them too 🙂 .We then crossed the road and went for our customary ghoda gadi ride that makes us feel on top of the world. She literally feels like an emperor when atop that little cart. She feels the tallest and in power. After lots of conversation with all our co riders we head towards a Buddha temple, yes if you didn’t know that then you must visit it its just very peaceful. At first the daughter would make a fuss about going in everyday or each time but now its a practice and she has taken a liking for it. Its calm, its peaceful and a must do if you are on sea face. After all how many of us teach our kids to bow their heads every day in front of the almighty and just thank them for the beautiful lives they are living.

We walked back to the promenade and tried a bit of gymnastics on the the two parallel bars of steel. Again the daughter loves this and touching the statue of the common man.

As the sun set we decided to sit for 5 mins by the sea and just look at the sunset. The peace that surrounded us was unbelievable. We walked some & jogged some on our way back home feeling recharged and happy. We behaved liked children, oblivious to all the problems around us and enjoyed every moment of it. We loved the small joys of life at Worli Sea Face…
