We are all for schools to reopen at the earliest so children don't face a learning loss and can adapt to normal life soon. Staying at home has taken a toll on their social understanding and behaviour and on their cognitive thinking in some cases. As states prepare for the gradual reopening of schools in phases, we need to keep in mind the everyday issues that will pose a problem once schools reopen. Check here to know which states are ready to reopen schools.

Recently we conducted a webinar on whether Indian schools should reopen and what factors we must consider while preparing for the same. The webinar had a stellar panel that consisted of Dr Swati Popat Vats, Fatema Agarkar, Suzanne Perkowsky, Dr Fazal Nabi and Mansi Zaveri.

  • From learning loss to the inability to sit in a place and focus.
  • From screen time woes to not feeling connected to the teacher.
  • From feeling anxious to not being able to follow instructions

We spoke about all of this and more in the webinar. Click here to watch the complete webinar right away.

We loved this part in particular by Fatema Agarkar where she spoke about the small things that parents must remember during the transition to getting our kids back to school. It isn't like the annual holiday break that kids get- this time they need to be prepared with bigger things like social distancing, sanitizing the hands often, using the masks the right way. Watch what she has to say about preparing ourselves during the transition.
