When it comes to what to wear consultation, it is generally very personal to each family and their requirements. But some colour combos never fail for your family portraits.
When you are clicking your kids outdoors, say your park or maybe a balcony, we mainly have greens and browns in the background and even blue (sky). So one colour that will stand out is -red! And it's really a pretty colour that pops up in the picture to brighten up the whole setup.
All Whites: Many of us feel that white is a really boring and dull colour, but the truth is the opposite. Wearing whites and other neutrals can really remove any distractions from the picture and only focus on your expressions and emotions. It not only looks very cute on kids but also your husband can look really handsome in that white cotton shirt with blue jeans.
Combining Contrasts: If you don't want to go with the above options, then go for contrasts. Do not match! Pick Orange, Pink, Peach and even shades of Blue.
Wear Solids: Avoid patterns, textures, blocks, prints! We want to focus on the cute expressions of your little one and do not want any distractions. Wearing plain solids help you do that. These tips work for adult shoots as well.
Plan As Per Your Interiors: For day to day indoor pictures of your kids, pick colours according to your interiors. See what are the colours in your furniture, walls, etc. If you have red/maroon or any dark coloured sofa set, then wear neutral colors like peach, white or maybe light Blue.
Keep It Simple And Comfortable: Make sure your kid is comfortable with the final outfit you decide. If you have chosen the cutest dress, but the little one is cranky in wearing it, then it wouldn't really help.
