As a tribe, we moms have our hands full. We put our baby's needs before our own. We know just how to take quick naps while rocking a baby to sleep. And we have mastered the art of going through our workday with a smile. How do keep going?
Turns out, babies have a secret weapon. And Huggies has a lot to do with it.
It isn't that they are so darn cute. It also isn't that they completely dote on their mammas. You know that moment when you pick your baby up and hug them close? It is at that moment that my son laughs his deep-throated tiny baby gurgle-y laugh sound. That sound, that happy baby laugh is enough to keep any mom going!
You know the sound I am talking about! It really doesn't take much. But it works like magic on us moms!
Forget sophisticated humour – no puns, no wordplay – nothing. All it takes is for us to be a little goofy and forget we are adults for the moment. Here are some of the few things that make my baby smile. Do they work for you too?
Try scrunching up your nose and contorting your face into a weird shape.

Or how about funny noises? Blow your nose, sneeze up a storm, blow a funny sound through your mouth and watch your baby light up!

As a mom of two boys, I can tell you bathroom jokes revolving around any bodily fluids or sounds can have them laughing for hours! In fact, the baby laughs starts as we start to change diapers. Walking spiders up his legs, blowing razzes on his tummy, or simply playing finger monkeys! Laughs guaranteed!

Or how about a favourite- people falling down and bumping their bottoms! There is something almost primal about laughing about another person falling! Makes my child chuckle over and over again!

Baby really itty-bitty? Play peek-a-boo and watch how their eyes light up time and again. This game never gets old!

Or how about daddy’s favourite? Tossing baby up and down

At the end of a long, hard day just before you tuck baby in bed try my all time favourite and mom’s greatest stress buster — the tickle monster!

There are so many things we do daily for our kids, why not do something for ourselves to help us do what we do best. So give yourself a much-needed hug. Hold your baby close and listen to them laugh and watch as you take the next step with renewed strength.
