‘Exams‘- the one word that I have always dreaded during my student years and somehow it continues to evoke the same emotion even after I’ve become a parent! And everytime I hear my mom friends discuss how they need to help their 1st grader prepare for the exam, I secretly let out a sigh of relief and thank god that my daughter is just 5 years and there is still some more time for us to get into that exam grind.
Going by my personal experience, I can surely say that a child’s exam can mess with one’s parenting styles to a great extent. I remember my otherwise cool mom cutting down on my play time or sometimes imposing a house arrest on me prior to my math exam; the way she memorised dates from my history textbook, made me wonder if it was her exam or mine;)
