How important is it in today’s world to let children know, respect and acknowledge people from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds? How do we teach the young minds that a society is made of people who are not exactly the same, but learn to co-exist? What better way than books to explain these topics to kids in a language they will understand. This conference aims art just that.
About the event:
Today, children must grow up respecting and understanding others who may look different from them and have different beliefs, customs and religions. Parag believes multicultural literature fosters positive self-esteem, has the ability to nurture respect, empathy and acceptance among all students. As such the roles of children’s literature and libraries become critical.
