When you bring your newborn baby home, you suddenly realise that you are now solely responsible for a tiny little human being – 24 hours of the day. When I say 24 hours, I mean it because as new moms know, babies have no concept of night and day — they wake when they want to and sleep when they want to! Add colic to this already messy routine and you know you have kissed night sleeping goodbye.

What Is Colic?

Colic is a condition in newborn babies where they cry uncontrollably because they feel discomfort in their tummies. This could be due to gas formation. The infant cries inconsolably, sometimes for extended periods of time, around the same time every day but appears healthy at other times.

If this sounds familiar to you, then you need the recipe we are showing you on today’s episode of KSP’s Grandmom’s special series. Though you can easily buy gripe water over the counter, this recipe has been passed down through the ages. It not only soothes a crying baby, but it is also beneficial for new moms. It boosts milk production and helps soothe a new mom’s tummy too.
