Idea behind MommySutra: 

When Akshaya Desai, Founder and CEO of MommySutra was pregnant, she spend time conversing with other to-be moms and mothers about their perspectives on pregnancy and what they needed to make them feel better. Coupled with her own experiences, Akshaya, a media professional who has earlier worked with The Times of India and Yahoo! and is known for helping brands leverage their online presence, hit upon the idea of Mommy Sutra. “Along with the growing bump, grew the idea of MommySutra”, she exclaims.

When quizzed about how these package are different from the individual products moms purchase, she says “After some research I realized that although mother and baby products are available through various websites there is nothing that ‘pampers’ a new mother or with a bundle of goodies including healthy, natural products and memorabilia focusing on making the journey more memorable and pampering a mom-to-be’s body and soul”.

Each curated and hand picked product in the packages are something every pregnant woman wishes to possess. What we love:

• The new-born sector is definitely a rapidly growing one in the country, but customized and curated packages to serve the pregnant woman isn’t explored much as is a welcome move.
• The careful detailing behind what women need in each of those trimester and the urge to handpick products that are health-sentient and chemical-free is appreciated.
• We loved the feel and care behind each of the chosen products (especially the coffee mug for the tired mom!)
