Cutting with scissors requires the skill of hand separation, which is the ability to use the thumb, index, and middle fingers separately from the pinkie and ring fingers. This can be challenging for a youngster with small hands. Providing the right fine-motor activities helps young children develop the dexterity to cut with scissors.
We’ve put together a Scissors Skill Box that will keep your kids busy for a long time – whether you’re busy cooking, out at a restaurant or just working from home. It’s a great way to work on their eye hand coordination too.
