The game is soon set to begin! The Directorate of Education (DoE) came up with a circular (Read here) yesterday stating that the admission process for the nursery sections for 2017-18 would begin on January 2nd and the last date for applying would be January 23rd, 2017.
This would apply to 1400 schools in Delhi. The process is similar to the previous year, where the schools will be free to choose the criteria and the points allocated for each. But they would have to steer clear of the abolished 51 criteria that were announced last year, such as parent's education qualification, personal interviews, etc.

The circular states that the schools will have to be transparent about the criteria and the list of applicants by clearly stating them on their respective portals. The first list of selected candidates should be declared by 16th February and the second list by 28th February. The admission process would end by 31st March 2017. The DOE also said that separate guidelines and schedule for 285 schools on DDA land given on lease condition will be announced later. A revamp of the age criteria and management quota was made last year and the court verdict nullified the latter, adding to certain delay and confusion among the parents.
