We see kids playing around us all the time and we don’t really give it much thought, right? Why are we neglecting something like PLAY that is so important.?

As per the LEGO® PLAY Well report

95% of children said PLAY helps them relax. 95% of parents said PLAY boosts their family’s happiness and well-being and creates stronger bonds. Over 90% of parents say PLAY helps their child develop vital life skills like creativity, communication, confidence and problem-solving.

With statistics like this, I wonder why we aren’t reinforcing the importance of PLAY in our child’s lives.

Psychologist Eric Erikson says this about PLAY

You see a child play, and it is so close to seeing an artist paint, for in play a child says things without uttering a word. You can see how he solves his problems. You can also see what’s wrong. Young children, especially, have enormous creativity, and whatever’s in them rises to the surface in free play.

Maria Montessori said

We cannot know the consequences of suppressing a child’s spontaneity when he is just beginning to be active.

But despite all these benefits, we’re still not playing enough. …Why?

By 2050, the jobs we know today may not even exist. Who would have thought a drone pilot or a content creator was going to be a job 30 years ago?

Like historian and author Yuval Noah Harari said – “The only skills we need in the 21st century is the ability to learn, unlearn and adapt.”

Let these small hands build their big dreams this year while learning through PLAY.
