Where do you think kids go when they are scared of need help? You ofcourse! But what must you do when they come to you and tell you something that is troubling them? Do you brush it off? Do you tell them, “don’t worry, it’ll be fine.” and end it there? And then you observe they aren’t coming to you with their problems now… is it because they can face those situations themselves now… or because you didn’t pay enough attention for them to come to you anymore? Because they don’t trust you with it…
Does Your Child Trust You?
Our kids need to trust us. Especially when they’re lost or when they’re struggling with something. They need to know that we’re on their side and at that moment we need to everything we can do to let them know they’re not the problem. We need to listen to them, no matter how small or big the issue is.
Whatever the situation, us just being there for them and trying to learn what’s wrong makes them aware that mommy and daddy are here to help. That’s how we get to them and make them trust us. Not to mention the relief they get from knowing that we’re all in this together.
Life is fast-paced, and you have a million things on your head. But don’t let those million things replace the time and bond you need to spend and create with your kiddos. These moments won’t come back.
